For the last 15 years, Dennis has worked on trade and investment policy issues between the United States and Sub-Saharan Africa. Since 2013, he has provided trade policy and communications strategy support to the African Union, Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), USAID/Jordan Competitiveness Program, and the Government of Uganda.
He focuses on helping to raise the profile of Africa’s regional economic communities in the United States, and is an active participant in the debate to effectively enhance, update and progress the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) into a future reciprocal trade pact between the United States and Africa as a whole.
In addition to his policy-related work, Dennis is Editor at the Habari Network, a diaspora news and opinion magazine, and he is an Advisor to the Orion Children International, a non-profit.
He has international relations degrees from Makerere University; a post-grad in American Politics from Northeastern University, and is currently pursuing a professional doctorate in international business and economic development.
