Zee has been the trusted advisor to Chinese and international companies on cross-border issues in a diverse range of industries. He managed the intellectual property and other legal issues for a Chinese environmental remediation company since its founding in 2014, which has now deployed de-sox scrubbers on over 5800MW of coal-fired generation capacity. Since 2013, he has helped US clients in the precision machine equipment space manage Chinese vendor relationships and undertake M&A, with total commercial value of over $100 million dollars. He has also advised Chinese companies in technology transfer and investment transactions with international partners in the aerospace, agriculture, construction and environmental technologies industries.
From 2008 to 2011, Zee practiced law at O’Melveny & Myers LLP and represented clients in a wide range of business transactions, including cross-border mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings of Chinese firms in the US markets, private equity fund formation, and venture capital investments.
Zee has a BA in Economics, with high honors, from Swarthmore College, and a JD from Columbia Law School. He was a senior editor of the Columbia Law Review. He is a licensed New York attorney, a licensed U.S. Customs broker, and fluent in Mandarin.
